Farewell, Dixie Harrison, SF-Fandom Co-founder

SF-Fandom co-founder Cheryl 'Dixie' Harrison.
SF-Fandom co-founder Cheryl ‘Dixie’ Harrison.
Cheryl Harrison, known to all as “Dixie”, passed away yesterday in her home. She is missed by many friends, co-workers, and family. She is deeply missed by SF-Fandom.

I have created a special user group, “Emeriti”, for the accounts of people who have passed on. Dixie’s account is the first to be entered into that group. We so seldom hear about members passing on I doubt it will ever be a large group. I want people to know I also did this to protect her legacy against possible future hacks. The “Emeriti” group cannot be used to publish content on the forums. I don’t want her memory to be tarnished by someone’s malicious intrusion (not that we don’t take many precautions against being hacked). In our hearts Dixie will always be one of our administrators. Always.

If you would like to share your thoughts or see what others have to say, please visit our memorial thread for Dixie Harrison in the forums.

It’s very difficult to put into words a friendship that lasted for so many years and through which so many wonderful things were accomplished. SF-Fandom.com will always honor our friend and co-founder for her special gifts, her wonderful spirit, and her incredible dedication and contributions to enriching so many other people’s lives.

Our thoughts and kindest wishes are with her loved ones.

  1. It’s been a long long time since I participated on this forum, but I remember Dixie. May she rest in peace.
