People’s Choice Awards snubs Legend of the Seeker fandom

Despite an aggressive fan-run campaign to support selecting Legend of the Seeker as a nominee for “Favorite SciFi/Fantasy Show”, the People’s Choice Awards did not include the show among its five nominees — opting instead to heavily favor the vampire crowd along with Fringe and Smallville.

Disappointed fans voted for the show up until the last minute that nomination voting was open. One fan commented that popular shows like Lost, which ended its highly successful six-year run this year, were also excluded from the nominations.

There are still many more plans in motion to bring back Legend of the Seeker. Fans were hoping to create some publicity for the show by getting it into the nominations for the 2011 People’s Choice Awards.

Meanwhile, former writers for Legend of the Seeker are getting new gigs because, after all, even writers of fantasy TV shows have to pay the bills and move on with their lives.

Legendary co-star Bridget Regan continues to Tweet and share news about her play, Camp Wanatachi. She has not announced any new major projects.

Another legendary co-star, Bruce Spence, will be hitting theaters on December 10, 2010 in “The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader” (watch a trailer at that site). The former Disney Narnia franchise is no longer getting as much attention as it once did.

Keep doing what you’re doing to let the TV industry know you want this show to return. One little setback is not the end of the fan campaign.
