Mothballing the old SF-Fandom blogs

I have now posted announcements at the WordPress.com SF-Fandom blog and the Blogger SF-Fandom blog about this blog. That means I won’t be checking those blogs nearly as much as I’ll be checking this blog.

Blogging seems to have become passe in the age of Twitter and Facebook but, frankly, I’m not really thrilled with either Twitter or Facebook. I have two Facebook accounts (one for work that I never log into and one for my friends that I only autopost to). I have set up several Twitter accounts (including one for SEO Theory that is now on autopilot and one each for Xenite.Org and SF-Fandom).

I don’t really have time for Twitter, although I still check the Xenite and SF-Fandom accounts from time to time. I have been directing some RSS feeds at those accounts but basically I just don’t have the heart to keep tweeting.

I like to write. I want to spread my words across the page and wallow in expressions and paragraphs and endless reams of meandering thoughts.

That seems to be what I do best on the Web. You can’t do that with Twitter and Facebook wants to violate your privacy in new ways every week.

So this is where I’ll be posting most of my thoughts.

As for the Save The Seeker blog, well, I haven’t decided yet. Helping to save the Seeker has brought me great pleasure (even though he’s technically not yet saved) but it has eaten up a lot of my time. I want to continue supporting the Seeker fans as much as I can but I’m really short on time. Or over-committed might be better way to describe what I am.

So, technically, Save The Seeker isn’t being mothballed — but neither is it being updated.

Did you get all that?
